Toni Garner -

Delta Zeta

Toni Garner pledged the Delta Zeta sorority at Northeastern State University in 1975 and graduated in 1978 with a bachelors degree in home economics and business. As a Delta Zeta member, Toni served as the vice president of recruitment. She also played clarinet for the NSU band and was president of the Home Economics Club.

Toni’s love for flowers blossomed as a child as she grew up with a grandmother and an aunt who were florists. After graduation, Toni sought her own floral business. In 1983, her dream was realized with the opening of Toni’s Flower’s and Gifts at 3525 S. Harvard Ave. in Tulsa.

Toni has participated as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. representing small businesses in the floral industry. She has served as the president of both the Oklahoma State Florists Association and the Ozark Florist Association. Toni has been recognized as the Designer of the Year by the Oklahoma Florists Association and is the chairwoman for the Tulsa Flower Convention. In 2005, Toni was selected as one of two Oklahoma florists to lend her artistic talents in creating floral arrangements to President George W. Bush’s second inauguration in Washington, D.C.

In 2007, Toni was asked by NSU to participate as a spokeswoman in commercials as part of an advertising campaign recognizing graduates who have achieved outstanding professional success. Toni is proud to be an NSU alumna and served on the NSU Foundation Board.

Toni’s has co-written a book with one of America’s top interior designers, Tulsan Charles Faudree. After a year of work, Toni is proudly anticipating the April 2008 release of “Charles Faudree Country French Florals and Interiors with Toni Garner.”

While maintaining an extraordinarily demanding schedule, Toni continues her commitment to generously giving back to the Tulsa community. She is a board member for the Tulsa Center for AIDS Resources, Education and Support (Tulsa C.A.R.E.S.), which has a mission to provide effective and compassionate response to all who are affected by HIV/AIDS through direct care and collaboration with others.

Toni has continued her dedication to Delta Zeta as president of the Tulsa alumnae chapter and as its Panhellenic delegate. She generously donates flowers to both the NSU Delta Zeta chapter and the Delta Zeta Alumnae Chapter for various celebrations. She also assists the Tulsa alumnae chapter with fundraising through an annual Valentine’s Day flower delivery.

In addition to her many accomplishments, it is her contagious laugh, wonderful sense of humor and caring, generous spirit why we honor her as our Tulsa Area Alumnae Panhellenic Woman of the Year!
