Missy Ayers Kruse -

Delta Gamma

Missy Kruse has 35 years experience in the communications business including work as a newspaper reporter, magazine writer, grant writer, public relations consultant and editor. Since 1986, she has been president of The Write Company, Inc., through which she has served a variety of clients including a Tulsa television station, and air ambulance, a women’s support center and a foundation specializing in children’s health education.

Her longest-running client is Langdon Publishing Co., where she has worked as a writer or editor on several publications for 15 years. She has been editor of the company’s flagship publication, TulsaPeople, Tulsa’s city magazine, since September 1999. During that time, the magazine has earned at least 30 awards for its writing, design and photography.

Kruse has also won two Silver Links, the top award, from the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, for client work. One Silver Link was won jointly with fellow Delta Gamma Annette Overlease, owner of Overlease Design. Kruse also holds the coveted APR, Accredited in Public Relations, from the Public Relations Society of America.

Professionally, she is a member of the Association for Women in Communications and PRSA, and has served on the boards of both organizations. She also serves on the University of Tulsa alumni board and is active in the Tulsa Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter.

During her years at TU, she served as president of her Delta Gamma chapter; as yearbook editor and was active in other campus organizations. She was inducted into Mortar Board, was named Outstanding Junior Woman and graduated with honors in 1971.

She and her husband Walter, a multi-award-winning business consultant and community volunteer, will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary in April 2008. They have one son, Benjamin, who follows in his parent’s entrepreneurial footsteps as the owner of a graphic design firm and musician.
