Annabel Jones -
Gamma Phi Beta
|
Annabel Jones is Gamma Phi Beta’s Woman of the Year. Annabel
currently serves as regional director overseeing all collegiate,
alumnae and house corporation board activities in Oklahoma,
Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and Arkansas. She is also
assistant general counsel-corporate affairs for the Samson
Companies.
Annabel was born in Oklahoma City and resided in Duncan until
second grade. She then moved with her family to Irving, Texas,
where she graduated from high school. She enrolled at the
University of Oklahoma and pledged Gamma Phi Beta. She earned a
Bachelor of Arts with Distinction degree in political science
and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. As a Gamma Phi Beta
member, she served as an officer, named Outstanding Greek Woman,
awarded the Gold Letzeiser Medal and was a member of Mortar
Board.

After graduating, Annabel attended the OU College of Law, where
she earned a Juris Doctorate degree. During law school, she
began her sorority alumnae volunteer work, serving as a house
corporation board member, recruitment advisor, alumnae reference
chairman and chapter advisor for the OU chapter.
On an international level, Annabel served on Gamma Phi Beta’s
International Council as financial vice president from 2002 to
2006, as the Oklahoma province financial director for nine
years, the sorority director-collegiate resources and on
numerous committees. She is now on the International Financial
Advisory Board. She recently completed a term as president of
the Tulsa Alumnae Chapter and is now its treasurer.
Professionally, Annabel has been associated with the Samson
Companies for more than 25 years, where her legal representation
focuses on corporate and transactional matters. Before working
at Samson, she was a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Luther B.
Eubanks and served as assistant general counsel of the Oklahoma
Securities Commission in its enforcement division. She serves on
the American Bar Association’s Negotiated Acquisitions
Committee.
As a volunteer, Annabel is on the Junior League’s Sustaining
Board. Prior to that, she was a two-year board member of the
Junior League, serving as community vice president and
communications council vice president. She is a Leadership Tulsa
member and has served on the boards for Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Green Country and the Child Abuse Network. She is a member of
the First Presbyterian Church.
Annabel is an avid OU fan with an office filled with Sooner
memorabilia and rarely misses a football game. She currently
serves on the board of visitors for the OU College of Arts and
Sciences.
